Wim Kegel is a Dutch jazz drummer known for his unique style that combines traditional jazz drumming with a progressive approach. He studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, graduating with honors in 1991. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as David Liebman, Michael Brecker, and Pat Metheny. In 2015, he released the album "Drumwise" in collaboration with pianist Marc van Roon, featuring original compositions and interpretations of pieces from the American songbook and works by Duke Ellington. Kegel is also active as an educator, running his own music school, Drumwise.
