Wooden Shjips is an American psychedelic rock band from San Francisco, formed in 2006. The members are Erik "Ripley" Johnson (guitar, vocals), Dusty Jermier (bass), Nash Whalen (organ), and Omar Ahsanuddin (drums). Their music blends elements of psychedelic rock, space rock, and experimental rock. Notable albums include "Wooden Shjips" (2007), "Dos" (2009), "West" (2011), and "Back to Land" (2013). The band is known for hypnotic rhythms and minimalist compositions, drawing inspiration from groups like The Velvet Underground and Suicide. Erik "Ripley" Johnson is also a member of the side project Moon Duo.
