Ashraf Sharif Khan is a Pakistani sitar player, son of the renowned Ustad Mohammad Sharif Khan Poonchwaley. In collaboration with German producer Viktor Marek, he released the album "Sufi Dub Brothers" in 2020, blending South Asian classical music with electronic genres such as hip-hop, acid, and dub. The album features tracks like "Maschinenland," a cover of a song by the band Abwärts. Khan and Marek worked together for over a decade to create this unique sound that transforms South Asian classical music into Western club music.
