Carmen Taylor was an American singer and songwriter active during the 1950s and 1960s. Although she did not achieve commercial hits, she recorded nearly three dozen tracks between 1950 and 1962. She collaborated with prominent musicians and arrangers of her era and wrote songs for artists such as The Clovers, Clyde McPhatter, and The Cookies. Later, she found success in the Latin music market under the name Elena Madera. Her musical style encompassed blues and rhythm & blues.
