Celtic Frost was a Swiss extreme metal band formed in 1984 in Zurich. The band was known for its innovative approach to metal music, blending elements of black metal, thrash metal, and avant-garde styles. Their most notable albums include "To Mega Therion" (1985), "Into the Pandemonium" (1987), and "Monotheist" (2006). The band disbanded in 1993 but reunited in 2001, releasing "Monotheist" before permanently ending activities in 2008. Frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer later founded the band Triptykon.
