Desmond Dekker & The Aces was a Jamaican group formed in 1965. Their 1967 debut album, "007 Shanty Town," featured the hit "007 (Shanty Town)." In 1969, they released "This Is Desmond Dekkar," which included "Israelites," the first Jamaican song to top the UK charts. Their music blended reggae and ska, influencing many artists. They collaborated with producer Leslie Kong and released several successful albums, including "Action!" (1968) and "Intensified" (1970).
