Earl Tywone Stevens, known professionally as E-40, is an American rapper and entrepreneur from Vallejo, California. He is the founder of the group The Click and the independent label Sick Wid It Records. Since 1992, he has released 27 studio albums, with his 1995 album "In a Major Way" bringing him wider recognition. His 2006 single "Tell Me When to Go," produced by Lil Jon, achieved mainstream success. E-40 has collaborated with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Too Short, and Kendrick Lamar. In 2023, Grambling State University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Music degree for his contributions to the music industry.
