Earth Quake was an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1966. Their music was influenced by 1950s and 1960s rock and blues bands such as The Yardbirds, Muddy Waters, and The Kinks. The band released their first two albums, "Earth Quake" (1971) and "Why Don't You Try Me?" (1972), under the guidance of producer Matthew King Kaufmann. They later signed with Beserkley Records, releasing four albums including "Rocking the World" (1975) and "8.5" (1976). Their cover of The Easybeats' "Friday on My Mind" gained significant popularity. The band disbanded in the early 1980s.
