Farid al-Atrash was a Syrian-Egyptian singer, composer, and actor, born on October 19, 1910, in Syria. After relocating to Egypt, he became one of the most significant figures in 20th-century Arabic music. Over his more than forty-year career, he recorded approximately 500 songs and appeared in 31 films. He was renowned for his mastery of the Arabic lute (oud) and was often referred to as the "King of the Oud." His musical style encompassed Arabic and Egyptian classical music, with his works remaining timeless and recognized worldwide.
