Faust is a German rock band from Hamburg, formed in 1971 by producer and former music journalist Uwe Nettelbeck. The original lineup included Werner "Zappi" Diermaier, Hans Joachim Irmler, Arnulf Meifert, Jean-Hervé Péron, Rudolf Sosna, and Gunther Wüsthoff. The band is known for its experimental approach to music, incorporating dissonance, improvisation, and electronic elements. Their debut album, "Faust," was released in 1971, followed by "So Far" (1972), "The Faust Tapes" (1973), and "Faust IV" (1973).
