Fred Wesley & The J.B.'s was an American funk band led by trombonist Fred Wesley. The group formed in the 1970s as James Brown's backing band and recorded several notable albums, including "Food For Thought" (1972), "Doing It to Death" (1973), and "Damn Right I Am Somebody" (1974). Their music is characterized by strong horn sections and rhythmic grooves that influenced many artists in the funk and soul genres.
