Gerry Hemingway is an American drummer and composer known for his work in avant-garde jazz and free improvisation. He was a member of Anthony Braxton's quartet from 1983 to 1994. Hemingway has collaborated with artists such as Ernst Reijseger, Anthony Davis, and Ray Anderson. In 2000, he received a Guggenheim Fellowship for music composition. He has released over one hundred albums on labels including Clean Feed, Enja, and Tzadik. Hemingway owns his own label, Auricle. Notable albums include "Outer Bridge Crossing" (1987), "Demon Chaser" (1993), and "The Marmalade King" (1995).
