Hacavitz is a Mexican extreme metal band formed in 2003 by Antimo Buonnano and Oscar García. The band's name is derived from the Mayan god Jacawitz. Their lyrics explore themes of death, darkness, and pre-Hispanic mythology. The band has released six studio albums, including "Venganza" (2005), "Katun" (2007), "Metztli Obscura" (2010), and "Darkness Beyond" (2015). In 2024, they announced the release of their sixth album titled "Muerte". Hacavitz is known for transitioning from blackened death metal to black metal and has collaborated with the band Impiety.
