James Horner was an American film composer known for his orchestral scores for over 160 films and television productions. Born on August 14, 1953, in Los Angeles, he studied at the Royal College of Music in London. His most notable works include the scores for "Titanic," "Avatar," "Braveheart," and "Apollo 13." Horner won two Academy Awards for "Titanic" and was nominated for an additional eight Oscars. He died on June 22, 2015, in a plane crash in California.
