Lard is an American industrial rock band formed in 1988 as a side project by Jello Biafra (vocals, formerly of Dead Kennedys), Al Jourgensen (guitar, of Ministry), Paul Barker (bass, also of Ministry), and Jeff Ward (drums, former Ministry touring member). The band is known for its politically charged lyrics with a humorous edge. Notable albums include "The Last Temptation of Reid" (1990) and "Pure Chewing Satisfaction" (1997). Their debut EP, "The Power of Lard," was released in 1989. Lard collaborated with several Ministry members, including Bill Rieflin, Mike Scaccia, and Rey Washam. The band is associated with the Alternative Tentacles label.
