Mahti is a Finnish four-piece group that blends ambient-rock, electronic music, and traditional Finnish-Karelian music. Their compositions are built upon complex, hypnotic grooves layered with opaque guitars and soothing noise elements. Central to their sound is the kantele, an ancient Finnish string instrument played by Hannu Saha, an expert in Finnish folk music. The other members include Jussi Lehtisalo and Tomi Leppänen from the avant-rock group Circle, and psychiatrist Teemu Elo. Their albums include "Musiikki 1" and "Musiikki 2".
