Matt McBane is an American composer, producer, and violinist whose music draws from classical minimalism, avant-pop, analog synthesizers, and folk music. His 2022 album "Bathymetry," created in collaboration with Sandbox Percussion, was released under the Cantaloupe Music label. In 2025, he released his first predominantly electronic solo album, "Buoy," under his own Gradient Music label. McBane is also the founder and artistic director of the Carlsbad Music Festival and the leader of the instrumental group Build.
