Minnie Riperton was an American singer-songwriter known for her five-octave soprano and use of the "whistle register." She began her career with the group Rotary Connection and released her debut solo album, "Come to My Garden," in 1970. Her biggest hit, "Lovin' You," came from the 1974 album "Perfect Angel." Riperton collaborated with Stevie Wonder, who produced "Perfect Angel." Her music influenced many artists and she remains a significant figure in the history of soul music.
