Necromantia and Varathron are two prominent Greek black metal bands that collaborated on the 1992 split album "The Black Arts / The Everlasting Sins". Necromantia, formed in 1989, is known for its innovative approach, including the use of an 8-string bass guitar instead of traditional guitars. Their debut album, "Crossing the Fiery Path", was released in 1993. Varathron, established in 1988, released their debut album "His Majesty at the Swamp" in 1993.
