Openness Trio is a musical group composed of guitarist and producer Nate Mercereau, saxophonist Josh Johnson, and percussionist Carlos Niño. Their debut album, "Openness Trio," was recorded at five different locations in Los Angeles and Ventura County, including outdoor settings in Ojai and intimate indoor settings in Elysian Park. The music blends elements of jazz, ambient, and electronic genres, with the members having collaborated with artists such as André 3000, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Kamasi Washington. The album was released on July 11, 2025, under the Blue Note Records label.
