Paul Flaherty is an American jazz saxophonist born on November 6, 1948, in Hartford, Connecticut. He specializes in free improvisation and avant-garde jazz. Beginning his musical career in the late 1970s, he is known for his energetic and expressive playing style on alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones. Notable albums include "In the Midst of Chaos" (1978), "Fat Onions" (1993), and "The Hated Music" (2000). Flaherty has frequently collaborated with drummers Randall Colbourne and Chris Corsano, as well as trumpeter Greg Kelley.
