Peter, Paul and Mary was an American folk group formed in 1961 in New York City. The trio consisted of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. Their 1962 debut album featured hits like "Lemon Tree" and "If I Had a Hammer." In 1963, they released "In the Wind," which included Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right." The group was known for their involvement in the civil rights movement and protests against the Vietnam War. After Mary Travers' death in 2009, Yarrow and Stookey continued performing as a duo.
