Richmond Fontaine was an American four-piece rock and alternative country band from Portland, Oregon, active between 1994 and 2016. They released eleven studio albums, four live albums, and two EPs. Their songs, led by vocalist and songwriter Willy Vlautin, often depicted imagery from Reno, Nevada, Portland, the Western United States, and Mexico. The band was influenced by artists such as Gram Parsons, X, Green on Red, and Dave Alvin. Their fifth album, "Post to Wire" from 2004, was hailed as a "masterpiece" by the British magazine Uncut.
