Sarah Chang is an American violinist of Korean descent, born in 1980 in Philadelphia. Recognized as a child prodigy, she debuted as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of 8. She studied at the Juilliard School and has collaborated with major orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. Notable recordings include her 1992 album "Debut" and the 2007 release "Vivaldi: The Four Seasons." Chang has received several awards, including the Avery Fisher Prize in 1999.
