Sir András Schiff is a Hungarian-British pianist and conductor renowned for his interpretations of composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms. Born in Budapest in 1953, he studied at the Liszt Academy of Music. In 1999, he founded the chamber orchestra Cappella Andrea Barca. Schiff has received numerous awards, including the Golden Mozart Medal in 2012 and a knighthood in 2014 for services to music.
