The Cruel Sea is an Australian indie rock band from Sydney, formed in 1987. Initially an instrumental group, they gained popularity after vocalist Tex Perkins joined in 1989. Their third album, "The Honeymoon Is Over" (1993), achieved triple platinum certification and won five ARIA Awards. The follow-up album, "Three Legged Dog" (1995), debuted at number one on the ARIA chart. After a long hiatus, they released "Straight Into The Sun" in March 2025.
