Yambú was a Latin music group formed in 1972 in New York City. The band was founded by music educators Ramon Rodriguez (bass guitar) and Milton Hamilton (piano), who taught at The 3rd Street Music School Settlement in Lower Manhattan. Their music blended genres such as salsa, funk, and disco, reflecting the diverse influences of New York's cultural landscape at the time. In 1975, they released their debut album, "Al Santiago Presents Yambú," produced by Al Santiago. The album features tracks like "Dinamita" and "A New Thing."
