Zoltán Kodály (1882–1967) was a Hungarian composer, ethnomusicologist, and educator. Alongside Béla Bartók, he collected and studied Hungarian folk music, influencing his compositions. Notable works include "Psalmus Hungaricus" (1923), the opera "Háry János" (1926), and "Dances of Galánta" (1933). Kodály developed a music education method emphasizing the importance of folk music in teaching. He served as a professor at the Budapest Academy of Music, and his approach to music education has influenced pedagogy worldwide.
