Xavier de Maistre is a French harpist born in 1973 in Toulon. He studied harp with Vassilia Briano, and later with Catherine Michel and Jacqueline Borot in Paris. In 1998, he won first prize at the USA International Harp Competition and became the first French musician admitted to the Vienna Philharmonic. As a soloist, he has collaborated with conductors such as Riccardo Muti and Sir Simon Rattle, and performed with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre de Paris. His discography includes albums like "Nuit d’Etoiles" (2008) and "Serenata Latina" (2020) with Rolando Villazón. Since 2001, he has taught at the Musikhochschule in Hamburg.
