Yank Rachell was an American country blues musician, renowned for his mandolin playing. His career spanned nearly seventy years, from the late 1920s to the 1990s. Between 1929 and 1941, he recorded with artists like Sleepy John Estes, Joe Williams, and Sonny Boy Williamson I. During the 1940s, his career was interrupted, but he was rediscovered in the 1960s by blues historian Bob Koester and began performing on the folk revival circuit. His notable songs include "Bye-Bye Blues" and "Tappin' That Thing".
