Zounds is an English anarcho-punk/post-punk band from Reading, Berkshire, formed in 1977. Initially part of the cassette culture movement, they were also involved in the squatting and free festival scene. Their name derives from the old English exclamation "zounds," a contraction of "God's wounds." In 1980, they released their first EP, "Can't Cheat Karma," on Crass Records, featuring the track "Subvert." This release and their association with Crass elevated their profile in the anarcho-punk scene. In 1981, they released the album "The Curse of Zounds." The band disbanded in 1982 but reformed in 2007 and remains active today. The products available from the artist Zounds include vinyls.
