Absu is an American black/thrash metal band from Dallas, Texas. Originally formed in 1989 under the name Dolmen, they later changed to Azathoth and finally to Absu in 1991. Their debut album, "Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L.", was released in 1993. The band is known for lyrics inspired by Celtic, Sumerian, and Mesopotamian mythology, alchemy, and magic. Notable albums include "The Sun of Tiphareth" (1995), "The Third Storm of Cythraul" (1997), and "Tara" (2001). The products available from the artist Absu include CDs.
