Band Aid is a charity supergroup composed mainly of British and Irish musicians, founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Their debut single, "Do They Know It's Christmas?", became the UK Christmas number one and sold millions of copies worldwide. The song was recorded at Sarm West Studios in London and featured vocals from leading artists of the time, including Bono, George Michael, and Sting.
