Batila, born Batila Ange da Costa in 1979, is a singer-songwriter of Congolese-Angolan descent who grew up between Berlin and London. His music, termed "Bantu Soul," blends Congolese influences with elements of R&B and soft jazz. His debut album, "Tatamana," recorded between Berlin and Kinshasa, was released in 2021. Batila has collaborated with the legendary Papa Wemba and performed at festivals such as the Rumba Parade in Kinshasa and the Black Sea Jazz Festival in Batumi.
