Ben Thomas Tango Project is a musical ensemble led by multi-instrumentalist Ben Thomas, known for his performances on vibraphone and bandoneon. During his fifteen-year study of tango, Thomas traveled to Buenos Aires to learn from the genre's masters. In 2022, they released their debut album, "Eternal Aporia," which blends tango with elements of jazz and chamber music. The album features twelve original compositions emphasizing rhythmic intensity and rich harmonies. The group consists of Thomas on bandoneon and vibraphone, Eric Likkel on clarinet and bass clarinet, and Steve Schermer on double bass. Some tracks also feature guest musicians such as Gretchen Yanover on cello, Brandon Vance on violin, and Jonathan Geer on piano.
