Description

Rosalie Allen, known as "The Queen of the Yodelers," was a prominent figure in New York's country scene during the 1940s and 1950s. The 2010 album "The Versatile Rosalie Allen" offers an extensive collection of 60 studio recordings, including her first solo track, "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart," and rare early recordings with the Tex Grande (Denver Darling) Band. The album also features both versions of her famous "Guitar Polka," one of which includes Chet Atkins. Listeners can enjoy her ventures into rock 'n' roll and western swing, as well as country ballads, yodeling cowgirl songs, and tender love ballads.
