'Coro' is inspired by Luciano Berio's 1975 composition of the same name, which comprises 31 songs. George De Decker created a cycle of 31 paintings and subsequently composed music for female voices, incorporating recordings of singers Els Van Laethem, Anne Marie Honggokoesoemo, and Herlinde Ghekiere. At pianist Geert Callaert's request, he added a piano part, resulting in a composition for solo piano and pre-recorded tape. 'Coro' is divided into three parts: 'Madrigali', 'Sonetto XXXI', and 'Coro'. In 'Madrigali', female voices polyphonically intertwine with the piano, with singer Els Van Laethem featured on the tape. 'Sonetto XXXI' serves as a transition to the final 'Coro' section, where piano and female voices merge into an emotional experience. This album is ideal for lovers of contemporary classical music and offers a unique listening experience.
