Description

First released in 1988, "Kaira" is the debut album by kora master Toumani Diabaté. This album, the first international release featuring solely solo kora without vocals, instantly established Diabaté as a star and introduced the kora as one of Africa's most captivating and versatile instruments. The January 31, 2025 release offers a remastered version on CD, housed in a 4-panel digisleeve with an 8-page booklet containing new notes and previously unpublished photographs by co-producer Lucy Durán. This album is also available on 180g vinyl.
