Released on May 17, 2024, this CD features three significant chamber works by Maurice Ravel: Violin Sonata No. 2, Sonata for Violin and Cello, and the Piano Trio. The Violin Sonata No. 2, composed between 1923 and 1927, is renowned for its second movement, which incorporates Afro-American blues elements. The Sonata for Violin and Cello, written between 1920 and 1922, is dedicated to Debussy and contains references to his final chamber works. The Piano Trio from 1914 is a complex and emotional piece full of exoticism and color. The interpretations by Klara Flieder, Christophe Pantillon, and Massimo Giuseppe Bianchi bring new depth and sensitivity to these works.
