Released on April 26, 2024, "Extinct" is a unique collaboration between industrial breakbeat pioneers Meat Beat Manifesto (Jack Dangers) and the undisputed king of Japanese noise, Merzbow (Masami Akita). This album offers a transcendental journey that deconstructs rhythm and structure, recycling them through layers of meticulously crafted noise and feedback loops, giving birth to new rhythms buried deep in the earth. The opening track "!FLAKKA¡" is raw and unforgiving, blending mutant forms of broken beats with hints of dub, creating rhythmic noise of the highest caliber. "Burner" takes the album to its ultimate conclusion, where the initial drum beat is deconstructed beyond recognition, as pulsating distortion and high-frequency audio fragments bleed into each other until the track slowly unravels.
