'Shiki' is the latest album by the legendary Japanese black metal band Sigh, released on June 13, 2025. This opus offers dark and eclectic blackened heavy metal, enriched with traditional Eastern influences. The album combines primitive black metal with epic melodic heavy metal riffs and solos, utilizing traditional oriental instruments like the shakuhachi and sinobue flutes to create an eerie atmosphere. 'Shiki' explores themes of the four seasons and the inevitability of death, inspired by traditional Japanese poetry. The album was recorded across multiple studios and mixed and mastered by Lasse Lammert at LSD Studios in Germany.
