Claudio Abbado was an Italian conductor renowned for his work with leading orchestras worldwide. He served as music director of La Scala in Milan, principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra, and music director of the Vienna State Opera. Abbado led the Berlin Philharmonic and founded the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. His discography includes complete recordings of Beethoven's, Brahms's, and Mahler's symphonies.
