Elim Chan is a Hong Kong-born conductor, born in 1986. She studied at Smith College in Massachusetts and the University of Michigan, where she earned a Master of Music degree and a Doctorate in conducting. In 2014, she became the first woman to win the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition, which led to her appointment as assistant conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra for the 2015-2016 season. She later served as chief conductor of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra from 2019 to 2024 and principal guest conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra from 2018 to 2023.
