Exciter is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1978 in Ottawa. They are considered pioneers of speed metal. Their debut album, "Heavy Metal Maniac" (1983), is regarded as a genre classic. This was followed by "Violence & Force" (1984) and "Long Live the Loud" (1985). The band is known for their fast and aggressive music, which has influenced many subsequent metal bands.
