Fleshgod Apocalypse, masters of symphonic death metal, present their sixth album 'Opera', releasing on August 23, 2024. This album is inspired by the tragic mountain climbing accident of frontman Francesco Paoli in 2021. 'Opera' is structured as a ten-act theatrical piece, merging Italian classical music traditions with the epic brutality of death and symphonic metal, which defines the band's signature sound. The album was mixed and mastered by producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Arch Enemy), pushing the band's boundaries to create a unique blend of violence, majestic orchestrations, and soaring melodies. The cover art, crafted by artist Felicita Fiorini and photographer Francesco Esposito, portrays Veronica as Music, a superior entity overcoming the social and artistic decay of the modern age. With 'Opera', Fleshgod Apocalypse defines a new sub-genre 'Opera Metal', combining extreme music with theatrical elements.
