Floyd Dixon was an American rhythm and blues pianist and singer, recognized as a principal exponent of the West Coast jump blues style. Born in 1929 in Marshall, Texas, he moved to Los Angeles in 1942. In the 1950s, he achieved success with hits like "Dallas Blues," "Telephone Blues," and "Call Operator 210." His 1954 song "Hey Bartender" was later popularized by The Blues Brothers. In the 1990s, Dixon experienced a resurgence with his 1996 album "Wake Up and Live!," which won the W.C.
