Harold López-Nussa is a Cuban pianist and composer who gained international recognition after winning the prestigious Montreux Jazz Piano Competition in 2005. Born into a musical family in Havana, his music reflects the richness of the Cuban musical tradition, combining folkloric, popular, and classical elements with improvisation. In 2023, he released his debut album for Blue Note Records titled "Timba a la Americana," produced by Michael League of Snarky Puppy. The album features 10 original compositions and introduces a new sound incorporating electric instruments and synthesizers. Other notable albums include "Te Lo Dije" and "Havana-Paris-Dakar."
