Harold López-Nussa, the acclaimed Cuban pianist and composer, presents his Blue Note Records debut album, "Timba a la Americana." Released on August 25, 2023, this vibrant album reflects his recent decision to leave his Cuban homeland and begin a new life in France. Produced by Michael League of Snarky Puppy, the album features 10 dynamic original compositions that blend traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms with modern jazz elements. López-Nussa is accompanied by a tight-knit band, including harmonica virtuoso Grégoire Maret, bassist Luques Curtis, conga player Bárbaro "Machito" Crespo, and his brother, drummer Ruy Adrián López-Nussa. "Timba a la Americana" showcases López-Nussa's ability to modernize Latin jazz while preserving the richness of Cuban musical tradition.
