Hoover was an American post-hardcore band formed in 1992 in Washington, D.C. The group consisted of Alex Dunham (guitar, vocals), Fred Erskine (bass guitar, vocals), Christopher Farrall (drums), and Joseph McRedmond (guitar, vocals). They released their sole studio album, "The Lurid Traversal of Route 7," in 1994 under Dischord Records. Their music was characterized by complex rhythms and dynamic shifts, influencing later post-hardcore and emo bands. After disbanding in 1994, members participated in other projects such as The Crownhate Ruin and June of 44.
