Samael is a Swiss metal band formed in 1988 by brothers Vorphalack (guitar, vocals) and Xytraguptor (drums, keyboards). Their second album, "Blood Ritual," released in 1992, is considered a classic in the black metal genre. The band is known for their unique blend of black metal with electronic elements, evident in albums like "Ceremony of Opposites" and "Passage." Throughout their career, they collaborated with producer Waldemar Sorychta and released albums under labels such as Century Media and Osmose Productions. Their music has influenced many other bands in the metal scene.
